“I can tell you that Brian is beloved by all who know him. He is a very fine person, a joy to be around, and would contribute tremendously to any professional situation with which he is associated.” ~ Broadway lyricist & Writer, Robert Lindsey-Nassif
Brian Glick is the visionary co-founder and the Executive & Artistic Director of Revival Theatre Company, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. His innovative approach has transformed the stage with uniquely intimate presentations. The company is celebrated for its highly regarded annual concert productions, involving nearly 100 performers. Over the past decade, Brian has directed more than 30 stage productions, earning him accolades for his dynamic and richly layered creations. The Gazette aptly noted, “Artistic Director Brian Glick has a knack for his wonderful elite talent for his productions on stage and behind the scenes.” Recent seasons have seen Brian helm the Midwest premiere of Come From Away, Dogfight and Grey Gardens. He has a knack for developing musical pieces in non-traditional spaces, creating intimate and contemporary experiences for both actors and audiences.
As a freelance director, Brian’s repertoire spans operas, musicals, and plays. He produced and directed Side Show as a fundraiser for Families Helping Families and Baby for The Young Parents Network, directed Jim McDonough’s Holiday Grande tour, and multiple cabarets and concerts.
Brian’s work with Theatre Cedar Rapids and Orchestra Iowa on The Music Man earned them the Collaboration Award. He has also contributed as a designer and stage manager for Cedar Rapids Follies. His talents have been honored by the New York Drama League, where he worked alongside Tony-nominated Director Marcia Milgrom Dodge and Broadway composer and lyricist Robert Lindsey-Nassif.
In 2019, Brian staged the world premiere of the musical Chaplin before its London debut. In 2020, he was recognized as one of CBJ’s Forty Under 40 most influential leaders. Brian’s commitment to his community is exemplified by his creation of the Iowa Concert of Hope, a relief concert benefiting those affected by the 2020 derecho in Cedar Rapids and Iowa. The concert featured notable performers such as Ron Livingston, Tim Shew, Linda Eder, Betty Buckley, Edwin McCain, Kim Scharnberg, Elena Shaddow, and Chris Brubeck. Brian’s strong leadership and visionary approach continue to inspire and captivate audiences and industry professionals alike.

Merrily We Roll Along begins in the present and moves backwards, tracing the lives of wealthy, jaded composer, Franklin Shepard, and his two estranged friends through each milestone of their personal and professional lives (good and bad). The show ends with a touch of rueful irony, as the three best friends at the start of their careers face a bright future: young, talented and enthusiastic about the worlds waiting to be conquered. Stephen Sondheim and George Furth expertly blend the excitement and energy of a backstage musical with a poignant and emotional contemporary story about the importance of staying true to one’s ideals.
