Revival Theatre Company Announcing an Exciting Lineup for Season 5
Cedar Rapids, IA – Revival Theatre Company (RTC) and its Board of Directors announce an entertaining lineup of shows and events for their fifth season.
In celebration of its fifth year, Revival Theater will start the year with a black-tie gala in January. Celebrating Five will be a two night event featuring memorable performances from over the past five years.
RTC’s show season will start on a hilarious note in March with 9 to 5 The Musical, music and lyrics by Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick. Set in the 1970s, this story of friendship and revenge in the Rolodex era is outrageous yet thought provoking with a bit of romance added for good measure. 9 to 5 The Musical runs March 14-16, 2019.
In May, the company will introduce Chaplin to the Midwest. Revival Theatre is only the second professional group in the country, outside of Broadway, to be granted rights to produce Chaplin. Seventeen actors will bring this biopic musical to life. Chaplin opens May 30-June 2, 2019.
Rodger’s and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! will close RTC’s fifth season. This classic piece will feature more than 60 performers including a full chorus. Oklahoma! has never been produced by the Cedar Rapids theater community; performances will run in November 21-23, 2019
In partnership with Theaterworks USA!, Revival Theatre Company will launch their Theatre Series for Young Audiences, with Charlotte’s Web on February 8th and and the Magic School Bus on April 2nd.
David Lawrence M.D. and PCI Vascular & Vein Center as well as United Fire Group are presenting production sponsors for the 2019 season.

Revival Theatre Company (RTC) was formed April 2014 by co-founders Cameron Sullenberger, Musical Director, and Brian Glick, Artistic Director. The vision was for a theatre company that reintroduces classic American Musical Theatre back to the community. The organization also provides a vehicle for cutting edge musicals that may not have commercial appeal to a large venue. RTC strives to produce collaborative experiences in either concert formats or full-scale productions.
