REVIVAL THEATRE COMPANY NEEDS YOUR HELP
We’re launching our Ignite fundraiser, “Invest in Our Next Act,” to raise $250,000 by May 2024 in order to present our upcoming season and build a strong future for another ten years. Since 2014 the dream and vision of Cameron Sullenberger and Brian Glick was to bring the highest quality musical theatre in a professional setting to Cedar Rapids. RTC has been a leader in creating productions and cultivating local professionals and talent with credits all the way from Broadway and regional theatres from across the county. RTC brings new life to the classical musical and new audiences to the rare gems along with our anticipated concert stagings. More than that, RTC has been a place for all members of its vibrant community from shows with LGBTQ themes like Victor/Victoria to captivating stories told through black artist in The Color Purple and Ragtime. We need to pull out all the stops to ensure we can continue this work and look to grow, as we increase community partnerships with other arts organizations such as Theatre Cedar Rapids, Orchestra Iowa and CSPS Hall and more.

When Covid shut down theatres everywhere, our industry was decimated. We have struggled for the last three years to restore operations and programming back to pre pandemic levels, and a slow return of audiences has led to unexpected shortfalls, along with the passing of our dear co-founder, musical director and friend Cameron Sullenberger. We have been and continue to be good stewards and make hard decisions, including delaying the start of our tenth season. We’re also using this time to strategic plan and visualize what the next act looks like. We feel confident it will be brighter than ever. RTC is a vital organization to the fabric of our community. Our mission and vision is to bring together exceptional artists to produce musicals that change lives, can’t be replaced.
